San Vito di Fagagna, Italy – Firefighters carried out an operation on the morning of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Molin Nuovo, within the municipality of San Vito di Fagagna (UD), after a young female deer fell into the Ledra canal and was unable to climb back up the bank.

Rescue crews reached the exhausted animal after it became trapped in the waterway and unable to escape on its own.

The deer was carefully recovered and transported to safety near a nearby wooded area.

Once released, it was given time to recover from the effort of the rescue.

After a short rest, the animal regained strength and returned to the forest in good condition.
