Texas – Dramatic footage shows Texas Game Wardens carrying a young child through deep floodwaters during an ongoing rescue response across the state.

The video from an inflatable boat shows wardens in bright yellow high-visibility gear and helmets moving through murky brown water surrounding homes, trees, and submerged yards.

One warden carefully carries a small child wearing a blue life vest and snorkel mask toward the rescue boat while other rescuers assist nearby.

The team lifts the child aboard a gray Yamaha-powered vessel as gray skies cover the flooded residential area.

Texas Game Wardens have rescued more than 40 people from rising floodwaters, including residents trapped in homes, submerged vehicles, and vehicles swept off roadways.

The response continues with partner agencies as heavy rains affect large portions of the state, particularly Uvalde County and surrounding areas.

Officials continue to urge people never to drive or walk through floodwaters as rivers and creeks continue to rise.
