Yorkshire Terrier Pulled From Under Deck In Dramatic Fire Rescue Operation

Arapahoe County, United States – A Yorkshire terrier named Tank was rescued and reunited with his family after becoming trapped beneath a deck in Arapahoe County.

South Metro Fire Rescue responded after receiving a call about a small dog stuck under a wooden structure.

The operation quickly escalated into a major rescue effort involving 18 personnel, including the full technical rescue team, along with Arapahoe County Animal Control.

Tank had burrowed under a wood deck and a concrete foundation, requiring firefighters to use sawing, shoveling, digging, and remote-camera equipment to locate him.

Crews worked until they were able to reach the dog and pull him free. He was described as shaken but unharmed, bringing relief to his owners.

Fire officials said the situation began during what they described as a playful game of hide and seek between Tank and his family, but it turned dangerous when the dog became trapped and at risk.
