Woman Rescued After 10 Meter Fall Into Manzanares River In Madrid

Madrid, Spain – A woman was rescued after falling from a height of around 10 meters into the Manzanares River during an incident in Madrid early this morning.

According to police accounts, officer Daniel of the police service immediately entered the water after the fall, alongside another citizen who was a homeless person, in an effort to rescue her.

The woman, identified as Diana, was found semi-conscious in the river and was unable to move her legs. She was at serious risk of drowning in the water.

During the rescue, Diana repeatedly said: “Por favor, no me sueltes, no quiero morir”

It was the only phrase she was able to say while she was in the water.

Daniel remained in the river with her continuously, ensuring she did not drown and keeping her safe until emergency services in Madrid arrived at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the officer did not leave her alone at any point during the rescue operation, helping stabilize her until further assistance took over.
