San Cipriano del Condado, Castilla y León, Spain – Aerial footage from a helicopter shows enormous columns of thick dark and orange-tinted smoke rising over agricultural fields, forests, and scattered villages.
The sun appears as a red orb through the dense smoke, while lower smoke spreads across the terrain. Active fire lines are visible near roads and rural areas as the aircraft surveys the rapidly growing blaze.
BRIF Tabuyo carried out an aerial reconnaissance flight over the forest fire during the afternoon of July 29, 2026. The fire began around 2:38 p.m. that day and was raised to IGR Level 2.
The wildfire forced the evacuation of hundreds of residents from nearby towns and urbanizations as strong smoke plumes developed in hot and windy conditions.
“We fly over to assess the fire and locate ourselves in the work area. It is already a monster. We are BRIF.”
