Camba, Spain – A hillside wildfire sent thick smoke across the terrain near Camba in Ourense province on September 12, with orange flames visible along one flank.

Spain’s BRIF Laza helitack crew flew over the fire before dropping in to fight it. Two separate smoke columns rose from green scrub and scattered trees along a ridge.

During another pass, a wider fire front poured beige-and-white smoke into the evening sun. Houses were visible in lower folds of the terrain beneath the smoke.

BRIF Laza is the only state helitack brigade based in Galicia and operates from a base in Laza municipality, the same district as Camba.
