Wildfire Roars Back To Life On Spanish Hillside As Firefighters Rush To Respond

Lugo, Spain – The forest fire in Soutordei, Ribas de Sil, reactivated and became more complicated on the opposite hillside where BRIF Laza crews had been working.

Video shows thick orange smoke pouring from the steep slope near a railway line as helicopters carry out water drops over the fire area.

BRIF firefighters wearing yellow helmets can be seen moving along a road toward the fire front while carrying tools.

Large plumes of smoke rise above the forested hills as crews continue battling the blaze.

The fire began the previous day and has burned around 90 to 100 hectares.

Firefighters continue to face difficult conditions on steep terrain near railway infrastructure.
