Wildfire Reignites In Catalonia As Firefighters Battle Flames From Air And Ground

Guimerà Area, Spain – The IFGuimerà wildfire has become active again, with firefighters responding to new fire activity across forest vegetation and agricultural fields.

Aerial footage shows thick columns of gray and brown smoke rising from active fire lines spreading through dry terrain, olive groves, harvested fields and forested areas.

Firefighters are working to contain the blaze, with crews seen building containment lines on the ground while helicopters and airplanes support operations from above.

Authorities requested confinement for the village of Mas de Bondia and confirmed the closure of the LV-2101 road in coordination with Mossos d’Esquadra.

The wildfire has the ability to create secondary fire outbreaks, and crews are working on a renewed section of the fire’s right flank.

Operations continue with 23 fire trucks, four helicopters and five airplanes involved in the response. Firefighters are reinforcing containment efforts along the affected area to stabilize the blaze.
