Sant Quirze Safaja, Catalonia, Spain – A wildfire broke out on July 15, 2026, in the municipality of Sant Quirze Safaja in the Moianès region.
Aerial footage shows thick gray and white smoke rising from the ground as orange flames burn through vegetation on the hillsides.
The fire initially affected an estimated 20 hectares of land, according to provisional data from Agents Rurals.
Within around 35 minutes, the affected area grew to approximately 70 hectares, mostly forested land.
Additional aerial footage shows a taller and denser column of smoke rising from the active fire front, with flames visible along the perimeter as the blaze moves through forest and terrain.
The footage highlights the scale of the wildfire, with smoke spreading across the hilly landscape while fields, roads, and scattered buildings can be seen in the distance.
Agents Rurals are investigating the cause of the fire while firefighting efforts continue.
