North-central West Virginia – State response operations remained underway after severe flash flooding inundated communities, as National Guard personnel, helicopters, and rescue teams continued working while Governor Patrick Morrisey traveled to the affected areas to assess the damage.

According to the latest operational update, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources carried out 85 rescues. A total of 310 National Guard personnel were deployed, while 19 National Guard and State Police helicopters were either conducting or ready to support rescue missions.

Officials also established three shelters for displaced residents. The latest update reported that no civilians were currently unaccounted for and there were no confirmed fatalities.

Governor Morrisey traveled to the flooded communities to inspect the destruction firsthand, meet with local officials and first responders, receive operational briefings, and provide an update on the state’s response and recovery efforts.

The footage captures submerged roads, vehicles, and buildings as the camera passes over residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, a large retail building, and locations near a highway beneath overcast skies.
