Coventry, Rhode Island – Bodycam video shows an explosion after a vehicle entered a crash scene and became entangled in downed live wires.
Police said a two-vehicle crash on Nooseneck Hill Road caused a utility pole to break and fall onto a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus.
Live wires were left down on the roadway after the crash.
A vehicle then drove into the area and became caught in the wires, causing an explosion. Officers can be heard telling the driver to stop moving after the blast.
According to fire officials, two firefighters were injured.
Nooseneck Hill Road remained closed between Magnolia Drive and Wisteria Drive until the utility pole was replaced. The incident remains under investigation.
