Nogales, Arizona, USA – U.S. Marines assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border reinforced the USA border by installing and securing concertina wire along the southern barrier during operations in Nogales on June 23, 2026.

Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, carried out the work in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard as part of barrier reinforcement efforts.

According to U.S. Northern Command, the mission is being conducted alongside the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities that help protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.

The operation focused on strengthening the southern barrier through the installation and securing of additional concertina wire.
