U.S. Forces Launch Lethal Strike On Vessel In Eastern Pacific

Eastern Pacific – On June 16, at the direction of the commander of U.S. Southern Command, Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike against a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations.

Intelligence confirmed the vessel was traveling along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was actively engaged in narco-trafficking operations at the time of the strike.

One male narco-terrorist was killed during the operation, while two male survivors remained after the engagement.

Following the strike, U.S. Southern Command immediately notified the U.S. Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for the survivors.

No U.S. military forces were reported harmed during the operation.
