Mallorca, Spain – Lucian Constantin Ionescu captured a total solar eclipse over the island on August 12, 2026, just minutes before sunset.
The footage shows daylight turning into darkness as the Moon completely covers the Sun, creating a brief period of daytime darkness.
During totality, the solar corona becomes visible around the covered Sun, creating a striking view across the sky over Mallorca.
The rare eclipse was described as a once-in-a-lifetime moment and 121 years in the making.
