Toddler Runs From Overturned Car After Arkansas Police Chase Ends In Crash

Joiner, Arkansas, United States – A police pursuit in rural Joiner ended in a crash when a Dodge Charger overturned after a PIT maneuver, followed by a toddler escaping from the wrecked vehicle and running toward officers.

Dash cam footage shows the vehicle refusing to stop for an Arkansas State Police trooper before the officer executed a PIT maneuver, causing the car to leave the roadway and roll over an embankment.

After several minutes, the back door of the overturned car opened as the officer ordered the driver to exit with her hands up. The driver replied, “My baby’s coming out first!”

A toddler then ran from the vehicle toward the officers, who called the child over and ensured the child stayed safe.

The trooper then confronted the driver, questioning why she fled while a baby was inside the car. He ordered her to crawl out of the vehicle.

Shortly afterward, the child’s mother exited the wrecked car and moved toward the troopers.

The officer described the situation as “the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen” and stated that the driver had been clocked at 80 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.

The driver said she attempted to escape because she did not have a driver’s license.

The trooper responded by questioning that decision and stating, “You almost killed your kid, do you understand me?”

The child was reported to be unharmed and was placed into the care of another adult at the scene. The driver is expected to face multiple charges, including reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a minor.
