Toddler Pulled Back From Death After Pool Rescue In Florida

Marion County, Florida, USA – A 2-year-old boy was saved after being found not breathing in a swimming pool at an Airbnb rental home.

The incident happened on Monday, April 20, 2026, at around 10:30 a.m., when the child slipped out of the living room through a sliding glass door leading to the patio and fell into the pool. A family member quickly realised the child was missing, found him in the water, and pulled him out.

Emergency responders Master Sergeant Tiffany Warren and Corporal Carlos Arias arrived and immediately began life-saving efforts on the patio. The child was unresponsive as they started rescue breaths and worked to clear fluid from his lungs by repeatedly repositioning him onto his side.

After several rescue breaths, the boy began to expel water. As an ambulance arrived, Corporal Arias picked up the child and rushed him to meet medical personnel at the roadway. He was then transported to Advent Health, where he was stabilised before being moved to Shands Hospital, later making a full recovery and returning home.

Officials credited the rapid rescue efforts at the scene, stating that without the immediate reaction from the family member and responders, the outcome could have been far worse.
