Tirana, Albania – A massive anti-government protest took place in Tirana on the evening of May 31, 2026, under the slogan “Albania is not for sale.”

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in a large public square or street, forming a densely packed crowd. Protesters raised their smartphones with flashlights switched on, creating a vast sea of white lights that illuminated the night sky.

Many participants also waved Albanian flags as the crowd stood together in a powerful display of unity. The camera captured the scale of the demonstration as the gathering stretched across the area.

The protest was part of growing opposition to the Albanian government’s controversial deals, particularly a major luxury resort project on the ecologically sensitive Sazan Island linked to American businessman Jared Kushner.
