Vatican City — On April 23, X user Romy shared a video showing thousands of people waiting to say goodbye to Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Basilica.

The video captures scenes from after midnight, with long lines still stretching more than a kilometer down the road.

Romy noted that tens of thousands had lined up for hours throughout the day, calling the moment “unreal scenes.”

The crowd remained steady even after midnight, filling the road to pay final respects to the late pope.
