Thousands Flood Regent Street In Defiant March Against Iran Regime

London, United Kingdom – A massive and peaceful solidarity march against the Islamic Republic of Iran regime moved through central London on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at around 4:00 PM local time.

Thousands of demonstrators filled Regent Street from curb to curb, advancing in an organized procession under clear winter daylight. The crowd included families, young people, and elderly participants, all bundled in coats, scarves, and hats against the January cold.

Flags dominated the scene, with large numbers of pre-1979 Iranian Lion and Sun banners waving above the marchers, alongside British flags and other solidarity symbols. Protesters raised their arms and voiced chants including “Free Iran,” “Death to the Dictator,” and “Long Live the Shah,” echoing through the historic thoroughfare.

The march passed through Regent Street’s iconic setting, framed by grand Victorian buildings, shopfronts, seasonal decorations, and passing red double-decker buses. Despite its size, the demonstration remained calm, with no visible confrontations or disruptions.

The event formed part of a major solidarity action organized by Iranian diaspora networks and supporters, backing the ongoing nationwide uprising in Iran. Protesters called for regime change, freedom, an end to IRGC terrorism, and stronger international action, including the proscription of the IRGC.

The march was planned to pass near BBC Broadcasting House and continue toward Downing Street for a rally, reflecting the scale and determination of global diaspora mobilization amid Iran’s escalating unrest.
