Teens Caught Subway Surfing On Brooklyn Train As Drone Tracks Dangerous Ride

Brooklyn, New York – NYPD drones spotted six people riding on the roof of a southbound B train between Newkirk Plaza and Kings Highway around 4:13 p.m. on July 20, 2026.

Drone footage shows several teenagers on top of the moving train as it travels along elevated tracks surrounded by trees and buildings. Additional footage shows officers tracking the group and intervening on the ground near residential buildings.

Five teenagers, including youths aged 12, 13, 14 and 15, were arrested. Charges included reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

Six stolen MTA keys were recovered from one of the teenagers.

The department said the video highlights the dangers of subway surfing. Two days later, a 16-year-old was critically injured while performing the same dangerous stunt.
