Solano County, CA – On March 26, just before 5 p.m., authorities responded to a shoplifting report at a store in the Premium Outlets. An employee said several people were stealing merchandise while others acted as lookouts. Officers and Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) drone pilots quickly moved to the scene.
A man and woman matching the suspect descriptions were first approached. The man ran and was caught after a short chase. He initially gave a false name but was later identified using a portable fingerprint reader.
The woman was found with four outstanding warrants and fentanyl in her purse. RTIC helped locate other associates and their getaway vehicle in the parking lot.
One suspect was recorded on patrol vehicle camera retrieving a sock containing drug residue, someone else’s driver license, and credit cards belonging to four other individuals. She handed the items to a friend who had front handcuffs for medical reasons. One victim reported never receiving a card he applied for but noticed fraudulent charges.
All suspects were booked into Solano County Jail on charges including shoplifting, resisting arrest, providing false information, drug possession with priors, and petty theft with priors. Authorities credited the cooperation between store staff, dispatch, officers, and RTIC for stopping the suspects and protecting victims from identity theft.
