Orange County, Florida – Video filmed by Orange County Sheriff’s Office shows a high-speed pursuit involving a wanted suspect who fled recklessly through Orange County with two young children inside the vehicle.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted a traffic stop on June 9, but the suspect failed to stop and fled. A helicopter unit tracked the vehicle from above throughout the incident.
Footage shows the suspect’s vehicle driving at dangerous speeds through residential areas before crashing into another vehicle. A passenger exited the car with a 1-year-old child, while the suspect continued driving with a 4-year-old still inside.
The suspect later stopped and ran on foot. Video shows him briefly carrying the child during his escape attempt before abandoning the 4-year-old on the street as he fled.
Bodycam footage captures deputies quickly detaining the suspect and rushing to the child’s aid. Officers comforted and reassured the toddler after taking custody at the scene.
The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Jason Kenon. Authorities confirmed both children were evaluated and were not injured.
Kenon faces multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, two counts of child neglect, leaving the scene of a crash, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
