Bibb County, United States – A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen yellow box truck ended with a suspect in custody after a multi-county chase that stretched across Georgia highways and involved several law enforcement agencies.
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office first spotted the truck near Pio Nono Avenue and Rocky Creek Road, where the driver was identified as operating a stolen vehicle out of Cordele.
The driver then fled onto Interstate 75, where he drove recklessly, weaved through traffic, and attempted to ram multiple law enforcement vehicles.
The pursuit continued into Monroe County as officers attempted several measures to stop the truck.
Spike strips and PIT maneuvers were deployed, but the vehicle continued fleeing even after sustaining heavy damage.
With support from the Georgia State Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia Department of Public Safety Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the chase was brought to an end near Rumble Road on I-75.
Deputies were able to disable the truck and pin it against a guardrail, finally stopping the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Darryl Leon Singletary of Warner Robins, refused commands before being taken into custody.
Authorities also reported that he was found armed with a knife at the time of arrest.
He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation following the incident.
Despite significant damage to multiple patrol vehicles during the pursuit, no officers or civilians were injured.
Officials credited coordinated efforts between agencies for bringing the dangerous situation to a safe conclusion.
