Starship Booster Splashdown Captured In Indian Ocean During Test Flight

Indian Ocean – Video filmed by X user Starlink shows a Starlink-equipped buoy floating in the Indian Ocean capturing the final descent and splashdown of the Starship booster during SpaceX’s twelfth flight test.

The footage is recorded from the buoy’s perspective, which appears in the foreground as a bright green inflatable platform fitted with a Starlink terminal.

In the sky above, the massive Starship booster is seen descending vertically with its engines firing brightly as it slows during its approach to the ocean surface.

The booster then makes contact with the water, producing a large explosion of white spray and steam that rises high into the air.

Throughout the sequence, the buoy is shown rocking on the waves, providing a close and unstable view of the moment.

The clip was posted with the caption “Starlink-equipped buoys provided real-time video streaming in the Indian Ocean during Starship’s twelfth flight test”.

The footage highlights the system’s ability to transmit real-time, high-quality video from remote ocean locations during spaceflight operations.
