Spanish Air Force Seaplanes Battle Wildfire Over Doñana In Urgent Aerial Assault

Huelva, Spain – Video filmed by X user Ministerio Defensa shows Spanish Air Force CL-415 seaplanes from the 43 Grupo of the Ejército del Aire operating over the Doñana natural park area in Andalusia.

The aircraft fly at low altitude over the fire zone, repeatedly releasing large volumes of water onto active hotspots in an effort to slow the spread of a rapidly advancing wildfire.

The footage shows the planes collecting water from nearby bodies of water before returning over the burning area to discharge it directly onto flames and smoldering ground, where thick smoke rises into the air.

The operation focuses on protecting the ecologically significant Doñana National Park as the fire continues to develop under emergency conditions.

The video was shared with a message praising the pilots of the 43 Grupo for their work in safeguarding the area and targeting critical hotspots using two seaplanes.

The aerial response highlights ongoing efforts to contain the #IFAlmonte2 wildfire and reduce its impact on the protected natural environment.
