Sergeant Howls Like Police Dog To Catch Fleeing Motorcyclist

Tampa, FL – On February 25, a TCSO sergeant performed an unusual and astonishing tactic during a foot pursuit when a reckless motorcyclist fled a traffic stop.

After the suspect abandoned the motorcycle and attempted to escape on foot, the pursuing sergeant produced an impeccable police K9 whine, imitating the department’s trained dogs. The bizarre strategy startled the suspect, who eventually fell and was taken into custody.

The incident has caused a stir within the department. K9 Igo, K9 Asher, K9 Manny, K9 Mac, and K9 Talia have filed a formal grievance through their union. The dogs assert that barking at suspects is work historically reserved for their unit and insist they will not surrender that duty without negotiating for additional treats.

The TCSO sergeant’s canine imitation is under internal review, while the motorcyclist faces charges related to fleeing law enforcement.

The pursuit highlights both the creativity and controversy that can emerge in law enforcement operations, especially when unusual methods are employed in high-pressure situations.
