Search Operation Mobilizes Helicopters Boats And Drones After Swimmer Disappears In Spanish Reservoir

Ricobayo Reservoir, Zamora, Spain — A large-scale search operation was launched after a 20-year-old man disappeared while swimming in the waters near the Mirador de Ricobayo viewpoint.

A command post was set up at the Mirador area as multiple emergency units coordinated efforts across land, water, and air. The operation included patrol officers, specialized diving teams, drone operators, and air support working together to locate the missing man.

Aerial views show a helicopter circling above the wide expanse of the reservoir while boats move across the calm water below. Along the shoreline, emergency vehicles and personnel are gathered near the staging area as teams prepare and coordinate the search.

Drone footage captures a motorboat navigating the water while wider shots show a dense deployment of police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances positioned near the command post. Officers are also seen operating from the shoreline as search efforts continue across the reservoir.

The coordinated response involved multiple Guardia Civil units, including SEPRONA boat teams, GEAS divers, the PEGASO drone unit, and the UHEL air unit, alongside firefighters from the Diputación de Zamora. The search was later concluded after the body of the young man was recovered from the water.
