Kapolei, Hawaii – A search operation is underway for a 42-year-old man reported missing after his kayak was found adrift and unmanned off the coast of Hawaii.

The U.S. Coast Guard and agency partners launched the search after receiving the report on April 29, 2024.

An HC-130 Hercules airplane crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point has been deployed to assist in the search effort.

The Coast Guard is working closely with local agencies to locate the missing individual in the surrounding waters.
