Sequoia National Forest, United States – The U.S. Forest Service issued an evening update on the River Fire, confirming that the wildfire had expanded to 2,330 acres.
Officials stated that fire crews would continue working through the night and into the following day as containment efforts remained ongoing.
The U.S. Forest Service is operating in Unified Command alongside the Kern County Fire Department.
Authorities also announced multiple road closures linked to the fire. Breckenridge Road has been shut down west of Cattle Canyon and east of Adelaide, while Cow Flat Road is also closed.
Highway 178 remains closed in both directions.
