Riders Stranded As Leviathan Roller Coaster Stops Mid-Ride During Storm Conditions In Ontario

Vaughan, Ontario, Canada – Riders were left stranded on the Leviathan roller coaster at Canada’s Wonderland on May 23, 2026, after the attraction came to a sudden stop during severe rain, cold temperatures, and strong winds.

Video filmed by X user Jake shows guests stuck on the giga coaster, Canada’s tallest and fastest ride, after it lost momentum following the large camelback hill and “valleyed,” coming to a complete stop in the valley section.

Passengers can be seen seated in the open-air train as heavy rain falls and strong wind conditions hit the ride, with a reported feels-like temperature of around 3°C (38°F). Park staff moved in to carry out a safe evacuation of all riders.

The incident occurred during an unusually cold and wet day at the park. Later the same day, the park’s other major B&M coaster, Behemoth, also valleyed while its train was empty.

Canada’s Wonderland confirmed that all guests were safely evacuated with no injuries and said affected riders were offered full refunds or re-entry passes. The park stated that the stoppages were caused by extreme weather conditions affecting ride performance.

The footage quickly spread online among theme park enthusiasts, with many describing it as a rare and unusual incident for Leviathan.
