Playa Grande, Caraballeda, La Guaira, Venezuela – International rescue teams have reached 44-year-old Hernán Alberto Gil Flores, who remains trapped beneath the rubble of the Galerías Playa Grande shopping center after 28 hours of continuous rescue efforts.

Rescuers established contact with Hernán and are supplying him with water through a hose while work continues to free him safely.

Teams from several countries are taking part in the operation. The unstable structure, rain, and aftershocks have made it one of the most difficult rescues they have faced.

Despite the challenges, Hernán continues to respond, and rescuers have been able to keep him hydrated. Rescue operations remain underway with the hope of bringing him to safety.
