West Palm Beach, United States – Police officers in West Palm Beach were forced to confront an alligator found in an empty parking lot, resulting in a tense on-scene capture.
Video shared by the local police department shows officers approaching the reptile face-to-snout as it lingered in the vacant lot. One officer carefully taps the alligator on the snout before managing to secure its jaws with his hands.
A second officer then assists by taping the animal’s jaws shut, making it safer for transport.
The department described the moment as an unpredictable part of daily duty, stating: “Just another day on patrol… until it isn’t. From neighborhood calls to going toe-to-toe with an alligator, our officers never quite know what they’ll show up to next. Well-rounded policing means being ready for anything, even when it has scales and a serious attitude.”
