Peñíscola, Spain – A large fire broke out in an open dirt parking area filled with vehicles, sending thick black smoke high into the sky.
Several firefighting trucks arrived with hoses deployed as an aircraft flew over the scene and dropped water or retardant onto the smoke plume.
Firefighters stopped the fire from spreading toward other parked vehicles, which were being removed, and prevented its propagation toward neighboring homes.
A total of 34 vehicles were affected, while medical crews treated several people.
Aerial resources were withdrawn as six firefighting crews and one command unit continued working at the scene.
