Cebu City, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard K9 Force (CGK9) Central Visayas responded to a landslide at the Prime Waste Solutions landfill in Brgy. Binaliw on January 8, 2026.

The team arrived promptly and coordinated with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to conduct Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

During the operation, one Coast Guard Working Dog (CGWD) named Sagbayan registered a positive indication, which is pending validation and confirmation.

Initial reports indicate that 31 people are missing following the landslide.

Authorities continue rescue efforts at the site as teams work to locate and assist those affected by the disaster.
