Paraglider Trapped Eight Meters High In Trees Rescued By Firefighters In Northern Italy

Vico Canavese, Italy – Firefighters carried out a rescue operation after a paraglider became trapped during descent and got caught in vegetation.

The man, for reasons still under investigation, crashed into trees and remained entangled with his canopy among branches at a height of about eight meters.

Two teams from the Torino provincial command responded to the scene, securing the area and starting recovery operations.

Rescuers used SAF techniques, including a “counter-braced ladder” maneuver, where a ladder is held vertically in place with rope supports.

This method, rooted in the historical tradition of the fire service, is still used for complex rescue situations.

Through this procedure, the paraglider was reached and able to descend to the ground on his own without injuries.

The operation ended successfully, with no need for further medical treatment.
