Aurora, United States – Officers walked through flash flood waters to rescue a woman trapped inside her flooded vehicle after severe weather struck the city.
The situation developed after a hail storm and flash flooding created dangerous conditions across Aurora.
A woman driving to work entered rising floodwaters near 6th and Sable without realizing the hazard, and her vehicle became stranded in the water.
Officers nearby responded immediately and moved through the floodwaters to reach the vehicle.
They assisted the driver out of the flooded car and ensured she was unharmed.
After the rescue, the woman was safely transported home by the officers.
Authorities reminded the public that floodwaters can be unpredictable and dangerous, and urged drivers to avoid roadways covered in water and seek alternate routes.
Officials emphasized that public safety remains their top priority during sudden emergencies.
