New York, New York – NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers brought a person in distress to safety on the Manhattan waterfront, in body camera footage released by the department.
The video shows officers responding to a 911 call at about 10:43 a.m. on October 6, approaching the person at the railing beside the river, speaking calmly and then pulling them back over to safety.
The NYPD said Detective Duffy and Officer Medina “successfully brought the individual to safety” with “poise and composure.”
“NYPD ESU officers make their job look easy, but a lot of training, experience, and compassion goes into saving lives,” the department said.
