Nighttime Flames Rage Across Spain As Fire Crews Battle Wildfire Front

Veguellina, Castilla y León, Spain – Night footage shows intense wildfire activity with large flames lighting up hillsides and tree lines beneath an orange-red sky filled with thick smoke.

Fire trucks with emergency lights are visible along roads near the active fire front. Additional footage recorded from inside a vehicle shows flames moving through vegetation, while ground-level views capture burning trees, undergrowth, and embers across forested terrain as crews work through the darkness.

BRIF Tabuyo’s TED team returned to base by road after working throughout the night of July 29, 2026, using technical fire methods to try to close a rear sector of the blaze.

The wildfire was declared on the afternoon of July 29 and was raised to IGR Level 2. Strong, shifting winds complicated firefighting efforts and led to evacuations in several nearby villages, including Prado de la Somoza, Moreda, San Martín de Moreda, Valle de Finolledo, and San Pedro de Olleros.
