Mountain Rescuers Airlift Injured Canyoneer From Steep Spanish Canyon

Zahara de la Sierra, Spain – Mountain rescue specialists carried out a complex helicopter evacuation after locating an injured female canyoneer in a difficult-to-reach section of the Garganta Verde canyon.

The footage shows rescuers navigating the narrow, rocky canyon while carefully carrying the woman on a stretcher through steep, confined terrain. They then coordinated a helicopter hoist from the cliffside.

Specialists from the Guardia Civil’s GREIM Ubrique mountain rescue team and aerial service reached the injured woman and provided initial medical assistance before beginning the extraction.

Due to the abrupt and rugged terrain, the rescue required a complex helicopter maneuver. The woman was airlifted from the canyon and transferred to a hospital.
