Mountain Rescue Helicopter Winch Evacuates Injured Woman From Spanish Ravine

Teruel Province, Spain – A complex mountain rescue operation was carried out in the Barranco de la Hoz Mala, near Aliaga, involving specialist teams from the Guardia Civil.

The rescue was performed by GREIM, the mountain intervention and rescue group, after a woman suffered a suspected fracture of the tibia and fibula following an accident in a ravine.

Footage shows rescuers operating on steep and difficult terrain as they carefully immobilized the woman’s injured leg before preparing her for evacuation.

Due to the narrow and inaccessible location, a helicopter winch system was used to lift her safely out of the ravine.

The operation required close coordination between ground-based rescue personnel and the aerial unit working above the mountainous area.

After being extracted, the woman was successfully transported and handed over to medical services for further treatment.

The rescue highlights another technically demanding operation completed by GREIM teams in challenging mountain conditions in the province of Teruel.
