Davison Township, Michigan, USA – A high-speed motorcycle pursuit that began in Detroit ended after a rider stopped on the roadside and surrendered following a chase that reached speeds of up to 140 mph.

Helicopter footage from Michigan State Police Trooper 2 shows the motorcyclist riding along the right shoulder in the wrong direction and having close calls with oncoming traffic during the pursuit.

The chase began on Charles Street in Detroit before continuing into Oakland County. The rider was seen weaving through traffic at triple-digit speeds, making a U-turn, and traveling against traffic on I-75 between 9 Mile and 14 Mile.

The motorcyclist later exited the freeway as the helicopter continued tracking him from above.

The pursuit ended when the rider stopped on the shoulder of the road and lay face down, leading to his arrest by Davison Township police.

The reason for the sudden stop is unknown. Some users speculated that the motorcycle had run out of fuel, but this was not confirmed.
