Military Firefighting Aircraft Battle Big Grass Wildfire From The Air

Klamath Falls, Oregon – On August 1, 2026, 302nd Airlift Wing MAFFS-equipped C-130H Hercules aircraft provided aerial firefighting support for the Big Grass Incident.

The 302nd Airlift Wing is part of the MAFFS aerial firefighting mission, providing wildfire response support on the West Coast.

The wing’s two aircraft, with callsigns MAFFS 2 and MAFFS 5, are positioned in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
