Italy – A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing carried out an aerial refueling mission over Italy on Jan. 13, 2026.

During the operation, the tanker supplied fuel to an F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 31st Fighter Wing while both aircraft remained airborne.

The refueling supported the 31st Fighter Wing as it completed a training mission, reinforcing operational readiness.

According to the mission details, the activity demonstrated the Air Force’s core airpower strengths and its capabilities within the European theater.
