Mayon Volcano Eruption Sends Lava Fountains Exploding From Philippines Summit

Albay, Philippines – Sped-up footage captured short-lived lava fountaining from the summit crater of Mayon Volcano on July 13, 2026, at 9:36 a.m.

The footage shows bright orange incandescent material shooting upward from the volcano before cascading down the slopes as lava flows.

The effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano has continued for the 189th consecutive day, producing incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents locally known as “uson,” and rockfalls.

Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano, and entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone remains prohibited.
