Massive Supercell Looms Over North Dakota Prairie Near Harvey

Harvey, North Dakota – A powerful supercell thunderstorm swept across central North Dakota on the evening of June 9, 2026, producing dramatic cloud formations and severe weather threats near Harvey in Wells County.

Video filmed by X user BeauMcFarland_OC_Weather shows an enormous, turbulent storm system dominating the sky above the prairie. Dark, layered supercell clouds with a prominent rotating or shelf-like structure stretch across the horizon, displaying shades of dark gray, blue-green, and lighter tones.

A thick, hazy curtain of rain, dust, or debris descends from the storm base, creating a menacing wall beneath the massive cloud formation. As the camera pans across the scene, a dirt and gravel road cuts through lush green farmland, with scattered trees and distant farm structures visible in the background.
