Guatemala City, Guatemala – Uniformed military personnel from the Escuela Naval de Guatemala and Centro Médico Militar stood in formation along a large, ornate float adorned with vibrant purple and gold fabrics, flowers, and religious statues. The anda bore the images of Jesús Nazareno de la Misericordia and Virgen de Dolores as it was prepared to move through crowded urban streets in Zone 1.

Handheld footage captures the group marching in unison, with some participants in camouflage uniforms joining the ranks. Spectators lined the sidewalks, while banners reading “San Miguel Arcángel” and golden accents glimmered in daylight against distant high-rises and trees.

Participants in black robes and white collars stepped reverently over intricate street carpets made of colorful sawdust and flower petals. Wisps of white incense smoke wafted upward, adding to the solemn, spiritual atmosphere.

The event, held on March 15, 2026, was part of the Cuaresma observances organized by the Cuasiparroquia Personal Castrense “San Miguel Arcángel” of the Primera Brigada de Policía Militar “Guardia de Honor.” Devotees accompanied the cortejo with prayers and music, demonstrating deep faith and devotion.
