Massive Explosion Rocks Polish Grain Facility As 10 Gas Tanks Blow Up, 2 Injured

Osięciny, Poland – A huge orange fireball erupted at the CZEJ-DAG grain-drying plant before noon on September 18, 2026, with footage captured by X user Hubert Ojdana showing flames bursting from the complex as black smoke rose above the tanks.

Ten of the plant’s 12 gas tanks exploded. Firefighters used water cannons to cool the remaining two and prevent further explosions.

Two people were injured, including one who suffered burns. The other was conscious and treated by paramedics.

Nineteen fire units responded to the blaze, including crews from Radziejów and Włocławek counties. The fire scorched the exterior wall of one silo and parts of the facility’s structure, but firefighters said it did not threaten nearby buildings.

National road DK62 was closed as emergency crews worked at the scene.

“The explosion was significant and could be seen from a long distance,” State Fire Service spokesperson Małgorzata Jarocka-Krzemkowska said.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.
