Massive Blast Tears Through Hezbollah Underground Complex In Southern Lebanon

Nabatieh, Lebanon – A massive explosion tears through underground infrastructure on Ali Taher Ridge as the Israeli military carries out the demolition of tunnel routes in southern Lebanon.

Night footage shows an orange fireball rising from a hillside before the ridge is engulfed in tall flames and thick orange smoke.

An aerial view then captures a large, multi-lobed blast cloud expanding across the hilly terrain, with debris and smoke centered on the marked area.

The Israeli military said Division 36 completed the demolition after gaining control above and below ground. The complex included more than 2 kilometers of tunnels and a Badr Unit command complex.

According to the military, the site contained Iranian-made rockets, missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-tank guided missiles and mines. It said fighters inside the underground routes were killed or fled.

The military said the complex had command rooms, weapons stores, generators and living quarters. It also said more than 1,100 tons of explosives were placed for the demolition.

The Ali Taher Ridge complex, located inside the declared security zone north of the Litani, had been under clearance operations. Two main routes were cleared on September 3, with the demolition carried out on the evening of September 10.

Israeli statements said the site had been built over two decades with Iranian funding and was intended as a staging base toward the Galilee. A powerful blast was felt in Nabatieh, with a reported tremor of about 4.1.
