Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA – A graduation ceremony at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater was disrupted on May 21, 2026, after a large fight broke out in the seating area during the Connecticut State Community College Gateway graduation ceremony.

Video filmed by X user Cleonice Smith shows a chaotic scene unfolding in the stands as spectators began fighting during the event.

People are seen throwing punches, pushing each other, and hurling plastic chairs through the seating area as the confrontation rapidly escalates into a large melee involving multiple individuals.

Police officers moved into the stands in an attempt to break up the fight, while an announcer can be heard over the loudspeaker asking attendees to stop.

Bridgeport police responded to reports of the incident at around 6:15 p.m. Three people were arrested, including two charged with assault on a public safety officer. The disturbance involved members of two families and briefly halted the commencement before the ceremony later resumed.

The person who recorded the footage was attending the event and captured the moment as it unfolded.
