March For Dignity Brings Massive Crowd To Central Madrid In Anti Government Rally

Madrid, Spain – A video filmed by X user AviadorVoxPlus, captioned “Despite the PP prostitutes, Spain is waking up.”, shows a large demonstration moving through central Madrid on a bright sunny afternoon on 23 May 2026.

The handheld footage is taken from deep inside the marching crowd as thousands of people advance along a wide urban avenue lined with leafy trees, multi story buildings, shops including L’Occitane, traffic lights, and balconies.

The crowd is described as dense, made up mostly of middle aged and older Spaniards. Many participants wear casual summer shirts, caps, and sunglasses. Some carry Spanish flags draped like capes, while others wave large red and yellow national flags, including some with the coat of arms. People also raise smartphones and hold protest signs as they move forward together.

Several banners are visible in the march. One reads “Dissolution of the Socialist Mafia”. Another shows “Corrupt.” alongside a photo of Pedro Sanchez. Additional messages call for justice and refer to ending what protesters describe as a “socialist mafia”.

The camera moves unevenly across the scene, capturing determined faces, flags in motion, and the packed street beneath a clear blue sky, with city architecture visible in the distance.

The footage comes from the “March for Dignity” protest in Madrid, where tens of thousands gathered to demand the resignation of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez amid ongoing corruption scandals. After the main march began in areas including Plaza Colon, some participants attempted to move toward Moncloa Palace, leading to clashes with police.
